2011 High Point Standings - Final

The 2012 ASHAG Board and the appointed ASHAG Show Committee are thrilled to bring you our High Point package for our 2012 Show Season. We are so excited about our High Point Shows and we encourage all ASHAG members to participate in the 2012 High Point system.

If you have not participated in the High Point system before...it is very simple. Complete the information on the High Point Awards Nomination Form and mail it back with the small $10 nomination fee. The main thing you need to know about the point system is that thenomination form has to be mailed and the postmark date has to be before the date of your first horse show. You also have to be a current ASHAG member. Once you have submitted the nomination form along with the nomination fee and you are a current member if ASHAG...you are nominated for the 2011 High Point System!

To qualify for high points...all you have to do is show in the division you are nominated for in 3 classes at 3 different point shows...it doesn't take much to qualify with as many shows as we have offered now! Here is a list of classes that qualify for high points: High Point Class List

Amatuer Status Rules:

Pursuant to Chapter 13, GR1306.1f, an amateur cannot ride (whether at home or at a show), drive, or show (in any class) any horse which his/her family receives remuneration for boarding, training, etc.:

1. Regardless of one’s equestrian skills and/or accomplishments, a person is an amateur

for all competitions conducted under Federation rules who after his/her 18th birthday, as

defined in GR101, has not engaged in any of the following activities which would make

him/her a professional…:

f. Rides, drives or shows, any horse for which he/she or a member of his/her family or

a corporation which a member of his/her family controls, receives remuneration for

boarding, training, riding, driving or showing. (A family member of a trainer may not

absolve themselves of this rule by entering into a lease or any other agreement for a

horse owned by a client of the trainer).

Therefore, this individual should not be an amateur if she is riding and/or showing any horse that is boarded at her parent’s facility or if the client is paying training fees to the barn (which then pays the trainer).
